Our serious mission . . . has a light side.

Located near Seattle Children’s Regional Hospital, our clinic is situated to be convenient and comfortable for all of our patients, some of whom travel great distances to see us. In recent years we have attracted patients from 21 states, 3 Canadian provinces, and 9 countries on 5 continents. But most of our patients come from right here, west of the Cascades.

Regardless of how far they travel to get here, we value our patients’ time, so we offer both the consultation and the procedure in a single visit, which takes just about an hour.

The DrSnip staff remains poised to answer the phone every time, and make each patient’s experience the very best it can be. We strive to make the entire process patient centered and user friendly, whether scheduling an appointment or just seeking information and answers.

Founded 1987

Dr. Wilson founded The Vasectomy Clinic in Seattle on July 1, 1987, after ten years of focus on the best available methods of vasectomy and on new ideas for surgical innovation.

The DrSnip Office.

When we first opened the doors, The Vasectomy Clinic emerged as a unique concept for a clinic dedicated to fulfilling a specific need in the community, rather than to a surgical specialty.

Men could get vasectomies at that time, but they had to hurdle barriers, and they were frequently put off and discouraged by the complicated process. Their needs were unmet, and as a result, there were more women undergoing tubal ligation for sterilization than there were men having vasectomies.

For more men to choose vasectomy, men needed to know more about it. Fear and myths needed to be replaced with facts. They needed a place to go to get free information and to get care that works for them. It became our goal to meet that need and to raze the barriers to vasectomy.

Now, all has changed. In our Puget Sound region 40% of men get vasectomies, and women are relieved. Together, Drs. White and Wilson have performed over 22,000 vasectomies.

Finally, a vasectomy technique for weenies.

Our Brand Name: DrSnip

The nickname, “Dr. Snip,” appeared on doorsteps throughout the Pacific Northwest on February 23, 1995, in the banner headline of the morning newspaper, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. The Dr. Snip article featured The Vasectomy Clinic and Dr. Wilson’s instruments and technique. The article, written by John Marshall, was informative, laced with humor, and served to stimulate enthusiasm about vasectomy. Many of our patients simply remember us by the Dr. Snip moniker and refer their friends to DrSnip.com.

Dr. Snip is a registered trademark of The Vasectomy Clinic. Simply Vasectomy℠ is a service mark of The Vasectomy Clinic.
